Attorney Matthew Torres obtained his J.D. from Marquette University Law School, where he focused on clinical trainings and workshops to gain real-world experience. With a background in criminology and social work, Attorney Torres brings a unique perspective to the legal field, merging his legal experience with his in-depth understanding of complex family dynamics. Attorney Torres is primarily a family and criminal law practitioner. However, he also represents clients in educational and employment related matters, particularly in claims of harassment and discrimination.

Attorney Torres specializes in matters of alternative dispute resolution, particularly negotiations and mediations. Having served as the Clinical Teaching Assistant for the Marquette Law’s Mediation Clinic he has successfully facilitated resolutions in complex landlord-tenant cases, car collision & insurance disputes, and other civil related matters. His proficiency in mediation has helped many clients achieve a fair settlement, reducing the need for prolonged litigation.

In addition to his mediation expertise, Attorney Torres has a demonstrated history of leadership. He served as the president of both the Hispanic Latino Law Student Association and the American Constitutional Society for Law and Public Policy.

Honored as the 2023 Scholarship Recipient by the Wisconsin Hispanic Lawyers Association and Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee. This recognition reflects Attorney Torres’ commitment to his studies, his culture, and his ability to make a lasting impact in the legal profession here in Milwaukee.

He completed his undergraduate studies at Marquette University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Criminology and Law Studies & Social Welfare and Justice in 2021.
